Wu Buyun, also known as Li Buyun, was born in Leping, Loudi, China in 1938. He is an Honorary dean of the College of Law, Hunan University. Wu Buyun is also known for his contributions to Chinese opera as a costume designer, where he is credited for creating the mangfu costume used in Beijing opera. Wu Buyun is also known for his calligraphy work.
