Stew is an American singer-songwriter and playwright from Los Angeles, California, United States. He formed a four-piece band called The Negro Problem in the early 1990s and released several albums with them. He is also known for his work in the Broadway production of Passing Strange. Stew is also a guest host and has been featured in Entertainment Weekly's Best Album of The Year lists in 2000 and 2002. He has won several awards for his work, including a Drama Desk Award for Best Musical for Passing Strange.
