Joan Busquets i Jané was a furniture designer and decorator from Barcelona, Spain. He was one of the leading representatives of modernism in the applied arts and tendencies until the Spanish Civil War. Busquets i Jané was born in Barcelona in 1874 and died in the same city in 1949. He trained in Barcelona at the Llotja School and in his family's upholstery and decorating workshop. He worked in collaboration with Antonio Gaudi and was one of the most important modernist artists in Barcelona. His work is characterized by its use of painted metal and other materials. He is known for his furniture designs, including the 'Buffet cabinet' from 1900.
