Navid Nuur is an Iranian artist born in 1976. He lives and works in The Hague, The Netherlands. Navid Nuur's art is characterized by his surprising choices of materials. His sculptures, installations, and text works have the 'aura' of a certain material at their core: for example, he has used aluminum as a medium to create artwork such as Inside the Void of Universal Friction (2008). Navid Nuur was given the Royal Award for Painting in Amsterdam in 2011 and his work has been exhibited internationally. He is represented by Galerie Max Hetzler, Plan B Gallery, Sofie Van de Velde Gallery, Jahn und Jahn Gallery, Frans Hals Museum, Arter (art center), Nubuke Foundation, and YARAT Contemporary Art Space.
