Salvatore Garau is an Italian artist born in 1953 in Santa Giusta, Italy. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze and became a drummer for the progressive rock group Stormy Six in 1977. After the group disbanded, he became a visual artist and had his first solo show in 1984. He has participated in the 50th Biennale di Venezia and showed work at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. His work often deals with environmental protection, culture, and social ethics. He has had solo shows at the Musée d'art moderne et contemporain of Saint-Etienne and has work in the collections of several museums including the Museo del Novecento, the Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, and the Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea in Milan. His 2021 'intangible sculpture' Io sono sold for €14,820 to a private Milanese collector through Art-Rite Auction House.
