Wenceslau Cifka, also known as Václav Cífka, was a Czech artist who worked in Portugal. He was a versatile artist who excelled as a garden architect at the Portuguese royal court. He was also a pioneer in photographic techniques and took the first photographs of members of the royal family, including King Ferdinand II. Cifka was involved in various exhibitions, including the Exposição Philantropica "Onze quadros ao daguerreótipo" in 1849 and the Universal Exhibitions of 1856 and 1867. He worked as a daguerreotypist from 1848 to 1863 and later died in 1884.
