Sidney Amaral was a Brazilian artist born in São Paulo in 1973. He studied painting and drawing with Professor Pedro Álvares between 1991 and 1998. Amaral was known for his critical manipulation of archives of Afro-Brazilian history and his use of various artistic languages, including painting, sculpture, jewelry design, ceramics, and music. He passed away in 2017.
