Diese Leinwand wurde nach der Rückkehr des Malers aus Paris 1880 gemalt. Ein weicher Schatten bürstet die Terrasse, wo eine ältere Dame in einem kühlen Morgen ruht und jenseits der niedrigen Wand Augen kann die Landschaft von der Sonne gewaschen, mit der letzteren macht das Blau des Meeres heller. Leto zog auf soziale Themen im Zusammenhang mit dem Leben in Paris und dann fühlte er sich die Notwendigkeit, sich wieder mit den Themen der Landschaft Malerei, die ihn während seines Aufenthaltes in Ischia berühmt gemacht hatte, eine Insel vom Golf von Neapel.
