Umgeben von Zeitungsberichten und grausamen Fotografien, bemalte Emanuel Leutze Angel auf dem Schlachtfeld, um die gebrochene und trauernde Nation zu trösten. Dieser Engel beschriftet die Namen gefallener Soldaten im Buch des Lebens, die ihren Mut und Opfer ehren.
