Angeführt an Louis Pasteur von Bauern aus dem Bezirk Pithiviers am 10. Januar 1884. Diese feminine Allegorie ist Teil des Denkmals für die Erinnerung an den Maler Henri Regnault (1844–1871) und die 11 Studenten der Ecole des Beaux-Arts getötet in Buzenval und Montretout während des Krieges von 1870. Das Denkmal wurde am 11. August 1876 im Innenhof der Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris eingeweiht. Diese Allegorie erscheint auch auf dem Grab von Regnault am Montparnasse Friedhof. Der Vater von Henri Regnault (1810–1878), Physiker und Fotograf, war ein Freund von Louis Pasteur.
