Hier hat Turner Baiae, in der Bucht von Neapel, als Hintergrund für den Mythos von Apollo und der Cumaean Sibyl verwendet. Letzterer bat den römischen Gott, ihr Leben für so viele Jahre zu gewähren, wie die Sandkörner sie in ihrer Hand halten konnte.
