Im Gegensatz zu der historischen Inschrift „Micarino“, die sich auf den Sienesischen Künstler Domenico Beccafumi bezieht, hat die moderne Forschung gezeigt, dass dieses Blatt ein Werk von Pontormo ist. Die weibliche Figur ist in einer seltsamen Haltung zwischen Stehen und Knien dargestellt. Sie wurde als die halbbetonte dritte Figur von links im Fresko des Besuchs im Vorplatz der Kirche Santissima Annunziata in Florenz anerkannt. Vasari lobte diese Wandmalerei und berichtet, dass Pontormo, damals noch relativ jung, „sein Werk, neben unzähligen anderen schönen Dingen, eine unermessliche Menge an Qualität“ und dass „diese Arbeit ... alle Künstler seiner Perfektion überzeugte“.
