Über eine Karriere, die sich über sechs Jahrzehnte erstreckte, zog Ruysch königliche Schirmherrschaft, hohe Preise und ein gutes Lob für ihre Stilllebensmalereien. Hier arbeitete sie mit Van Musscher, einem Porträtisten, zusammen und trug eine extravagante Blumenarrangement zu seiner Darstellung des Malers in ihrem Atelier bei. Eine poetische Inschrift auf dem Album von floralen Studien im Vordergrund dokumentiert die Zusammenarbeit und lädt Zuschauer ein, die jeweiligen Verdienste der beiden Künstler zu bewerten.
