Jacques Gondouin was a French architect and furniture designer born in Paris in 1737 and died in 1818. He was the son of the gardener at one of the French king's royal châteaux and rose to become one of the leading architects of his time. He is known for his designs of the École de Chirurgie in Paris and the Petit Trianon in Versailles.
