Jacques-Nicolas Roettiers was a French silversmith born in Paris in 1736. He was the son of Jacques Roettiers, also a silversmith, and descended from an illustrious line of goldsmiths, medallists, and engravers to the king since the 17th century. He became a master silversmith in 1765 and was active until 1786. Roettiers is best known for creating the Orloff Service, a service in silver massif, commissioned by Catherine II of Russia for her favorite Orloff. He died in Madrid in 1788.
