Jeanne Malivel was a Breton artist who supported Breton nationalism. She was born in Loudéac, France in 1895 and died in Rennes, France in 1926. She was known for her woodblock prints and illustrations, particularly for the book 'The History of our Brittany'. She was also a painter, ceramicist, and furniture designer. Malivel was a co-founder of the art movement Seiz Breur, which aimed to renew Breton art and culture. She was also a member of the Groupe des Six, a group of Breton artists who sought to promote Breton art and culture. Malivel's work is characterized by its use of Breton symbols and motifs, as well as its incorporation of elements of the Art Deco style. She is considered one of the most important Breton artists of the 20th century.
