Joseph-Pierre Picot de Limoëlan de Clorivière was a French soldier, artist, and clergyman. He was born in Broons, France in 1768 and died in Washington, D.C., United States in 1826. He was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Napoleon Bonaparte in 1800 and fled to Georgia, where he became a miniature portrait artist. He is known for his watercolor portraits on ivory, including the portrait of Mrs. Phineas Miller (Catherine Littlefield) in 1806.
