Takenouchi, Hisakazu was a Japanese artist born in Taito City, Japan in 1857 and died in 1916. He was an influential artist in Japan, known for his work in sculpture. Takenouchi was influenced by Okakura and attempted to integrate the Western sculptural style to the already-existing ‘traditional’ style in Japan. He received recognition for his work in the third Naikoku Kangyo Hakurankai (Domestic Industrial Exposition) in 1890. Takenouchi's work is held in collections such as The University Art Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts.
