Thomas Hesketh Biggs, also known as Col. Thomas Biggs, was born in 1822 in India. He served in the Bombay Artillery in 1842 and was appointed Government Photographer in 1854 with a commission to photograph architectural and archaeological sites. He produced a series of photographs of architectural and archaeological sites in India in 1855. He died in 1905.
