Zayn al-Din, also known as Zayn ad-Din, was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1520. He was a well-educated woman of the Druze elite and author of two renowned polemics on women’ s rights in Arab society, al-Sufur wa-l-Hijab. He was also known for his contributions to Islamic feminism.
