Acoma Pueblo, also known as Acoma Nation or Acoma Indian Reservation, is a Native American pueblo located approximately 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States, with a history that spans over two thousand years. The Acoma Pueblo tribe is a federally recognized tribal entity, whose historic land once covered roughly 5,000,000 acres. Today, the Acoma community is primarily located within the Acoma Indian Reservation. The Acoma Pueblo is a National Historic Landmark and consists of four communities: Sky City (Old Acoma), Acomita, Anzac, and McCartys. The Acoma people have continuously occupied the area for over 2000 years, and their traditions estimate an even longer history.
