Biography:
Adam Chau, also known as Adam Yuet Chau, is a professor of the Anthropology of China at the University of Cambridge. He was born in Hong Kong and received his PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University in 2001. His research focuses on popular beliefs and practices in China, and he has published several works on the topic, including 'Miraculous Response: Doing Popular Religion in Contemporary China'. He is also a Fellow of St John's College and the Director of Studies at the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies department at Cambridge.
