Biography:

Agasias of Ephesus was a Greek sculptor who lived in the 1st century BC. He is known for his bronze statue of a warrior, which is now in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The statue is also known as the Borghese Warrior, the Discobolus, the Fighting Gladiator, Hector, Héros Combattant, and the Warrior of Agasias. It is considered one of the finest examples of Hellenistic sculpture. Not much is known about Agasias' life, but it is believed that he was active in the 1st century BC and that he worked in Ephesus, a city in present-day Turkey. He is also known for his work on the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Agasias' style is characterized by its naturalism, dynamism, and attention to detail. His work has been widely admired and imitated throughout history, and it continues to be a source of inspiration for artists today.
