Biography:
Aldo Falchi was born on November 30th, 1935, in Sabbioneta, Mantua, Italy. He was oriented towards figurative arts by an innate predisposition and the example of his father, the painter Paride Falchi. Aldo began sculpting at a young age and moved to Milan in 1954 to attend the evening Brera Academy while working in the studio of his mentor, Remo Brioschi. He collaborated on various projects, including the Monument to 'the Resistance' of Reggio Emilia and sculptures for the Monumental Cemetery and church 'Dei quattro Evangelisti' in Milan. In 1959, he settled in Germany as a sculptor for the prestigious Rosenthal porcelain factory, where he created the famous service 'The Magic Flute.' He also collaborated with Danish designer Bijorn Wiinblad and Viennese painter Ernst Fuchs, which influenced his propensity to venture into interpretative speculations of the human image. Aldo Falchi's work is concentrated on nudes, which he considers the key hinge for his aesthetic research.
