Biography:

Amadeo Azar is an Argentine visual and sound artist born in Mar del Plata in 1972. He has been living in Buenos Aires since 2007. Azar has a background in film production and photography, and has exhibited his work in various museums and galleries in Argentina and internationally. His work explores the constitutive elements of identity in a complex and hybrid culture such as the Argentinean one. Azar has received grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and has been an artist in residence at Est-Nord-Est in Quebec, Canada. He is known for his interest in the visual languages of modernism and their incarnation of utopian sets of beliefs and views of society.
