Biography:
Andrea Jori is an Italian sculptor and painter. He was born on July 30, 1953, in Mantua, Italy. Jori began his artistic career in the mid-1960s and developed various techniques for drawing, engraving, and painting that earned him an invitation to the Student Biennale in 1971 at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. He continued to experiment with different materials throughout the 1970s, creating ephemeral works that have largely been lost. In the 1980s, Jori's work included cartons gessati incisi and dipinti, often with applied organic or mechanical structures, as well as studies for urban furniture, theatrical scenery, and animation theater. He graduated from the DAMS in Bologna in 1977 and opened his laboratory to the public in 1981.
