Andreas Gefeller is a German artist born in 1970 in Düsseldorf, Germany. He is known for his innovative photographic projects and has had over 27 solo shows and 83 group exhibitions. Gefeller's work often explores place and objects to which he feels an attachment or have metaphorical value. He uses the camera as a tool of both truth and deception, producing photographs of urban and manmade spaces that challenge the boundaries of everyday perception. Gefeller is a member of the German Photographic Academy and his work is held in numerous museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Victoria & Albert Museum.
