Anila Rubiku, also known as Anika Rubiku, is an Albanian artist born in Durres in 1970. She studied at the Academy of Arts in Tirana and did her post-graduate work in Milan at the Brera Academy. Rubiku is known for her works that interrogate the social and historical wounds left by totalitarianism in her home country. She has exhibited in numerous key galleries and museums, and her works often explore themes of tenderness and subversion. Rubiku currently lives and works between Milan, Italy and Tirana, Albania.
