Biography:
Anthony Nelme was a British silversmith who established a firm in Ave Maria Lane, London around 1680. He is known for creating the Lily font, a large silver gilt baptismal font used in the christening services of members of the British Royal family. The company's origins date back to Nelme's firm, which was later taken over by Edward Barnard in 1829, who traded as Edward Barnard & Sons. Nelme died in 1722.
