Biography:

Arturo Rietti was born in 1863 in Trieste, Italy, into a wealthy Jewish family. He grew up in Trieste and from 1882 to 1884, he lived with his brother in Tuscany, where he executed his first portraits. He completed his early training in Florence and later in Rome and Monaco. Rietti was not only a talented painter but also a skilled fencer. He died in 1943 in Padova, Italy.
