Barbara Chase-Riboud, also known as Barbara Dewayne Chase-Riboud or Barbara Chase, is an African-American artist, writer, and poet born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1939. She is known for her sculptures, poetry, and novels, including the international best-seller 'Sally Hemings' (1979). Chase-Riboud's work often explores themes of race, gender, and identity, and she has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to the arts. She currently lives in Paris, France.
