Biography:

Beizan Miwada was a Japanese artist who lived during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is known for his calligraphy work, particularly on hanging scrolls such as 'Fuku, from a set of three hanging scrolls ‘Fukurokujyu(Happiness, Salary and Longevity)’'. His works have been auctioned multiple times with realized prices ranging from $462 to $774. Miwada was also a Shinto priest and is known for setting up the characters inscribed on the pillars of Itsukushima Jinja, which can be read as 'nenpojinraku' and mean 'People delight in a rich harvest'. He passed away sometime before 1905.
