Biography:
Carl Knoll was an Austrian artist and founder of the Karlsbader Porzellanfabrik Carl Knoll porcelain factory. He established the company in 1842 as a kaolin washing business and received his license to produce porcelain on August 17, 1848. After his death in 1868, his sons Adolf, Karel, and Ludvi k took over the factory, improving product quality and introducing luxury painted goods.
