Biography:

Carla Guagliardi is a Brazilian artist known for her sculptures and installations that play with gravity, the elements, and the question of time. She has lived and worked alternately in Berlin and Rio de Janeiro since 1997. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions such as Musee des Beaux Arts (Calais), Fabrica (Brighton), FRAC Basse Normandie (France), The British Film Institute Gallery, London; Haus am Waldsee, Berlin; CRAC Alsace, France, Stills, Edinburgh; and the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007 as part of ArtSway's New Forest Pavilion. Guagliardi has also lectured in public and private schools from 1977 to 1997, focusing on education through art.
