Casino Wake Up Time

Biography:

Casino Wake Up Time is a collective of Bundjalung and Kamilaroi women who have been meeting and weaving for over ten years. The members are Auntie Janelle Duncan, Auntie Margaret Torrens, Theresa Bolt, and Kylie Caldwell. They are renowned for supporting cultural renewal of traditional weaving and their artistic native plant dyeing of silk. The collective has transformed their passion for weaving and dyeing into a successful business, selling their products at markets and online. They have also been involved in community projects and exhibitions, including the 23rd Biennale of Sydney. The collective's work is a testament to the strength and resilience of Aboriginal women and their culture.
