Early Life and Training

Charles Louis Müller

, a renowned French painter, was born in Paris on December 22, 1815. He was the pupil of Léon Cogniet and Baron Gros, among others, at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts.

Notable Works and Achievements

Müller's first exhibited painting, Christmas Morning, dates back to 1837. From 1850 to 1853, he directed the manufactory of Gobelin tapestries. In 1864, he became a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France, succeeding Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin.

Contribution to the Louvre and Other Museums
