Biography:

Christiaan Lodewijk Willem Dreibholtz (Dordrecht, 1799 - Dordrecht, 1874) was a Dutch painter. He was born in Dordrecht and died there. He was a pupil of the painter Andreas Schelfhout. He painted mainly landscapes and cityscapes. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in Amsterdam. He exhibited his works in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. His works are in the collections of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Dordrechts Museum in Dordrecht and the National Museum in Warsaw. He was a teacher of the painters Johannes Bosboom and Anton Mauve.
