Biography:
Jean Bapteur, also known as Jean le peintre, was a painter, miniaturist, and decorator who worked in the service of the Duke of Savoy Amédée VIII and his son Louis. He was born in Fribourg, Switzerland, and was documented from 1427 to 1457. He is known for his work on the Apocalypse of the Dukes of Savoy, which he worked on in Morges between 1428 and 1458. He is also known for his collaboration with other artists such as Péronet Lamy and Jean Colombe.
