Biography:

Claudio Torcigliani is an Italian artist born in Naples, Italy in 1954. He discovered his passion for drawing and painting at a very young age but had to postpone this passion due to family circumstances until 1979. In 1981, he left Italy to study at the École Superieur de Beaux Arts in Paris for four years. Later, in 1985, he traveled to Holland where he fell in love with the great Dutch masters who influenced his painting definitively. After a long career in various European cities, he settled in Mallorca in 1988, specifically in Valldemossa. His paintings reflect influences from both Dutch and Italian masters, offering personal visions in each work. He captures the luminosity and essence of island landscapes using academicism acquired over the years. Throughout his broad artistic career, he has developed various pictorial varieties including portraits, nudes, seascapes, still lifes, and landscapes with perfect execution in different techniques.
