Biography:

Cornelius Bellekin, also known as Cornelius Belkin and Cornelius Bellequin, was a Dutch artist born in Amsterdam around 1625 and died before 1711. He was known for his work in carving and engraving nautilus shells, and was part of a family that included many carvers of mother-of-pearl. His subjects included portraits, biblical episodes, and rural scenes, but his mythological scenes were regarded as his finest work.
