Cornelis de Beet, also known as Cornelius de Beet, was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands around 1779. He was educated in his birth city and later settled in Baltimore, United States by 1810. He was active in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was known for his work as an ornamental painter. He died in Baltimore, Maryland in 1840.
