Biography:
Cyprian Shelakoe was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1911. He was a painter and graphic artist, known for his abstract works. He studied at the Kiev Art Institute and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad. In 1941, he was evacuated to Tashkent, Uzbekistan during World War II, where he continued his studies and began his career as an artist. He returned to Kiev in 1944 and became a member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He participated in numerous exhibitions and his works are held in various museums and private collections. He died in Kiev in 1992.
