Biography:
David Abraham Bueno de Mesquita was a Dutch painter born in Amsterdam on March 23, 1889. He died in Florence on December 12, 1962. He was known for his landscapes and biblical scenes, but he also worked as an illustrator and cover designer, mostly of children's books. He was a winner of the Prix de Rome in 1913 and lived there briefly. His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1928 Summer Olympics.
