Biography:

David Reed is an American contemporary artist, known for his abstract paintings on canvas. He was born in San Diego, California in 1946. Reed is an alumnus of Reed College, Portland, Oregon and the New York Studio School. He has exhibited his works internationally in numerous museums and his artworks are included in numerous private and public collections around the world. Reed is also recognized for his contributions to the field of painting, featuring in Tony Godfrey's overview of painting of the last 40 years, 'Painting Today.' He is known for his complex images that are often the result of a year-long process. Reed currently lives and works in New York.
