David Wendel Longstreet was an artist born in Lafayette County, Mississippi in 1861 and died in 1933. He was the son of Gilbert Longstreet and Harriet Wendel, and his mother was Harriett M Wendel, daughter of Thomas Neilson Wendel and Mary Ann Hancock. He was married to Helen Dortch Longstreet, who was known for her work as a Confederate memorialist and Progressive.
