Biography:
Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) was a German arms manufacturer that was established in 1896. It was formed by the merger of several smaller arms companies, including Ludwig Loewe & Company, which was owned by the Loewe family. DWM was one of the largest arms manufacturers in Germany during World War I and II, producing a wide range of weapons, including pistols, rifles, machine guns, and artillery pieces. The company's most famous product is the Luger pistol, which was designed by Georg Luger and became one of the most widely used military pistols in the world. DWM was also a major supplier of ammunition to the German military and other countries. The company was dissolved in 1945 after World War II, but its legacy continues to this day through the products of several successor companies, including Heckler & Koch and Rheinmetall.
