Douris or Duris (Greek: Δοῦρις, Douris) was an ancient Athenian red-figure vase-painter and potter active c. 500 to 460 BCE. He was one of the most important and prolific vase painters of the red-figure style, and is known for his elegant and detailed figures, as well as his innovative compositions. Douris was also a skilled potter, and is credited with the invention of the squat lekythos, a type of small oil flask. His works are highly prized by collectors and museums, and are an important source of information about ancient Greek art and culture.
