Edison General Electric Company was an American company founded by Thomas Edison and J.P Morgan in 1890. It was a result of the concentration of Edison's and Morgan's businesses under the same name. The company was based in Schenectady, New York. In 1892, it merged with Thomson-Houston Electric Company to form General Electric. Edison General Electric Company was a pioneer in the development of electric power generation and mass communication technologies.
