Biography:
Erika Verzutti is a Brazilian artist born in São Paulo in 1971. She is the daughter of José Mariano Carneiro da Cunha and Manuela Carneiro da Cunha, anthropologists. Verzutti studied visual arts at Parsons School, New York, and later at Goldsmiths College London. She is known for her sculptures that often combine organic and geometric forms, using a variety of materials such as bronze, concrete, and fabric. Verzutti has exhibited her work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, and the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. Her work is part of several collections, including the Saatchi Collection UK, the Thyssen-Bornemissa TBA21 Collection Austria, and the Coleção Gilberto Chateaubriand/MAM Rio de Janeiro.
