Eugene Cuffee, also known as Eugene Chief Cuffee, was an American artist born in Southampton, New York, USA in 1866 and died in 1941. He is known for his sculpture-decoys. Cuffee was a member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation, a Native American tribe located on Long Island, New York. He was a prominent figure in the Shinnecock community and was known for his contributions to Shinnecock art and culture. Cuffee's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 400 USD to 1,800 USD. His most famous work is 'Heron Decoy' created in 1930, made of metal. Cuffee's artworks are also displayed in the Long Island Museum of American Art, History, and Carriages. He was also involved in the removal of a large rock from the West Woods beach and have it placed at the Shinnecock Nation Cultural Center & Museum in 1981.
